They've released a lot more detail on the battlegrounds, it looks like two of them are 12 man battlegrounds (although its unclear since the games could also be multiples of 6 man groups in there, something I'd like to see one day if not), and one is a 48 man battleground. Although its a minor thing I'd like to have seen them advertised with a few of the non-humanoid races in the original website pictures, Sarnak, Froglok and Iskar models look just so good and stand out from other MMO's.

But overall I'm very impressed by what I see, they've put some serious effort and polish into these from the looks of it.

Original information on website

Battlefield of Ganak

Deep in the overgrown keeps of the Kunark jungle, a bloodthirsty group of Iksar is holding tournaments in the ruins of their great ancestors. Following their cultural practices of swarming fortresses, annihilating enemies and stealing their treasures, the tournament games are meant to mimic the violent event, not as tradition, but as sport! Rewards await those who are victorious including combat secrets, battle techniques and other valuable information that has been passed down through the ages.

* Game Type: Capture the Flag
* Players: 6 Person Group
* Environment: Outdoor arena with two large oppositional bases with intersecting interiors
* Objective: Capture the enemy's flag located within their base and return it to your base with your flag still in place
* Win Condition: First team to successfully capture and return three flags wins

Smuggler's Den

Join the battle of two groups eternally at odds! Seafarer factions are vying for supremacy and willing to handsomely reward any mercenary brave enough to fight for their side. With limitless resources, neither side is willing to allow the opposition to capture and control the islets. Key control over pivotal trading positions is imperative to delivering goods in a profitable manner. The battle continues with the struggle to control strategic lookouts and smuggler havens.

Gears of Klak'Anon

Gnomes studying a magical and likely cursed technological artifact are particularly intrigued about the unusual properties of this mythical relic. Especially the effects that it grants to its possessor, which rapidly decay health, but with the dubious tradeoff of increased offensive potential. In an effort to further study the effects, and for their own twisted amusement, players are rewarded for engaging in a science experiment turned entertainment, Hold the Relic.

* Game Type: Hold the Relic
* Players: 6 Person Group
* Environment: Industrious clockwork foundry containing scientific equipment in motion

Lookout Nagafen, Brownie Troop revisited is bout to blow through Norrath :)

From what I am reading the battlegrounds are going to cross servers... So a group of my guildies could have a Battle match with your guild even though we're on different server. Thats a cool concept. I've met so many people from other servers, it will be kind of cool to be able to play with them in some capacity.

Really looking forward to this one.

I just need to collect as much defensive gear as I can to make my Froglok Guardian as annoying as possible :D Team play wise though the class just has so many possibilities, 24v24 sounds like it'll be my main hunting ground here.

Really split down the middle on priority targets, racial ones like Ogres and Trolls or popular ones like Dark elves and Fae, which brings me to a question, how on PVP servers do you identify who is on your side or not? Is it just the red name?

If so then I guess that confirms it as two factions maximum in a Battleground.

Also, some further information on the forums

They'll be 80+ at launch. In following updates, they'll be scaled downwards SMILEY

They will be part of the game update and therefore open to all of our customers, whether they've purchased the expansion or not.

I've heard there will be two brackets initially, 80-90 and 90, with the mentoring feature I'm really hoping we can see some big brackets for the low levels such as 20-50.

Sounds like another reason to race all the chars to max that you want to play for xpac. I've got some work to do.

I am workin hard on the zerker - 63 atm.

Anyone heard any detail regarding battleground gear rewards versus overland pvp rewards? I really hope overland stuff is rarer/better.

I think these will be fun but I am perhaps more excited about 6v6 just for the idea of a static group that can work together and complement each other well.

Despite it being cross server I am curious if entire guilds will take to the idea of battleground raiding. Entering the fray as a one guild raid unit.

I think the guild on guild BG fights will be huge. I can see now that there will be a new BG leaderboard for guild wins. Huge braggging rights for the top guilds IMO and you know there will be a event at FF for this as well.

I am so psyched that I've been wetting the bed every night. My poor girlfriend.... I also read that there will be some type of Chaos armor. The only thing that I find unfortunate is the gear that people will be wearing to these. Folks won't be on equal footing. They should allow only MC gear or gear earned in the arena.

What level is your dirge now? I'm sitting at almost 76 with my brigand, but I really want to play it with my pally that's only 26. :(
