I was feeling a bit nostalgic at the weekend and decided to re-install EQ2 and maybe sign up for a month to see if I could get back into it. When I logged onto the SOE account management page I noticed that both my accounts, neither of which have been used for at least three months, had 23 days of free play time that had to be used by the end of the year. Once in game I found out that I also had access to all the TSO content on both accounts even though I have never owned that expansion.
Does anyone know why this would be? I've (briefly) scanned the official forums but couldn't see anything and I'm pretty sure I haven't recieved any 'come back for free' type offers.
If all the TSO content will be available to me it could give me the incentive to play until Sentinels Fate is released. If I play until 31st December only to have it removed again COULD well have the opposite effect.
So is this uncharacteristic good marketing from SOE, or just the reverse?

So is this uncharacteristic good marketing from SOE, or just the reverse? I think they have done this before the past few expansions to get people back into the game so they can sell more expansion copies. I too have not heard anything about it this time.
