I think the biggest flaw in this game is that it somehow came out too close to Halo 3, so people will pass it up.

Thats it. That is its only flaw.

Period.

:)

What a wonderful game. Very well done, story is A+++ graphics are beautiful. The game gives you a "sandbox" feel in parts, but also lets you cruise along the main storyline.

The premise of the game doesn't sound all that original, you are a hero from a past war after Earth has made contact with other alien races. Those races have already know about each other and humans as a whole are trying to work themselves into a galactic council of sorts. Being the cunning beasts we are, other races are welcoming us, but also making sure we don't grab to much power as an upstart. This council oversees the galaxy and its rules, but also has an elite force (Specters) you are the first human to join this elite foce and you basically cna do whatever you need to in the galaxy to keep balance to everything (sound familiar?). My description doesn't give the plot justice though, the storyline is crossed with intrigue and backstabbing and reads like a George RR Martin novel. There are also a whole mess of subplots and the whole key to this being a great game is the character development that Bioware does with each of the side characters in your group and ones you meet in game (think KOTOR character development but x10).

And potential Alien Lesbian Sex! That adds 2+ to any review last time I checked.

If you have a 360 go check this out. From what I understand also, this is just the first game in the Trilogy, and 2 more will be coming out. I have also heard that those will allow you to use your same character as in masseffect. If by chance they can cap off the trilogy of this game with an MMO in which you can move your "Shepard" into another character in the MMO. This game would be golden.

Golden.

Doesnt it have online co-op play for the single player campaign? Me and a friend just bought 360's for this sort of thing, that would rock.

Unfortunatly, I haven't seen one for this game. It is well worth the $60 though regardless.

I have not been able to put this game down. It is really awesome. Its like your controlling a High Def movie and playing an awesome RPG at the same time. I already cannot wait for the rest of the trilogy. There is no multiplayer, which would rock in a game like this, but it doesnt need it. Like Cyan said its one of those rare console games that is actually worth the $60 price tag. There is an option for downloadable content. Starting to wonder what they may do with that. The way this game has been going for me, the Halo series really doesn't compare. This is what an alien sci fi is all about. I must admit after playing this game over the past few weeks I really want to play a good sci fi MMO.

Looks like Mass Effect did pretty well for first week sales:
