Quote:Shards of Destiny - PreviewEQII's next Game Update, Shards of Destiny, is slated to go live in late September. We will be bringing some exciting new content to the world of Norrath with Shards of Destiny. Erollisi Marr's influence is felt once more in Norrath. Our players will be able to explore the Shard of Love and learn more of the popular goddess' story. There will also be a new x4 dungeon to test your skills. Miragul's Planar Shard will continue the story of the powerful mage. There are several other exciting additions coming with Shards of Destiny! Auto-mentoring: Revisit content you may have missed! Housing renovations: Enjoy more space to exercise your decorating creativity, or just more room to store your booty! Achievment System: Killed 100,000 undead? Now you'll be able to track your accomplishments and earn nifty rewards. Shader revamp: The changes to the shader system are ready! Enhanced graphics and more realisitic-looking shadows await. Stay tuned for more information about the new goodies coming with the Shards of Destiny update! The last part is the big news for me, I really was doubting they would be able to get it all ready in time for September, really really looking forward to seeing this badly here. And even better once the shader 3.0 thing is done it means we'll have something else new in the pipeline for February, not sure what this will be, but I'm betting on either a whole new Flora system, better Sky rendering, and or more realistic Furr/Hair (to improve avatars and especially the Rattatonga flavoured new expansion). The graphics developer has already predicted that the sky/flora would be moderately hard while he reckons the hair/fur rendering would be similar in difficulty to implement to the Shader 3.0 work. Really would like to see all three done though to give the game the best new player experience ideally, but expect it will be one of, or at best 2 of the above.

I am really interested to know if the automentoring will be on PvP.
Anyone know?
(I'm at work right now, but when I get home I will try to go through the boards to find out unless someone knows offhand.)

Crapsticks. Olihin wrote here 1st July in the offical forumsQuote:I have already requested a new way to make it work in PVP. My idea was so awesome, we may have to use it in PVE as well. I will try to get it for us on our servers, I doubt it will allow for people to pvp or use it outside of instances. But that's all I've heard from it, there has not been an update that I could see. I'm wondering why they cannot just tone down the mentoring power here instead, if we took that at each level you could get all trash gear and give that a score of 0 and the best fabled drops that you could kit yourself out in and call that 100. Then scale the mentored players down to say 70 or 80% of that with all combat arts at adeptIII at that level. That way you are definitely viable at the level you have mentored down to, but no longer awesomely powerful. AA would be the problem I guess, something just don't scale, here I'd be tempted to record the order AA's are added in, messy still though.

I believe at one point this was the idea for mentoring on the PvP server, the only problem was even though the spells were dumbed down, it still provided an advantage for the higher level character by giving him more options of spells to choose from.
