Does anyone use this? I reformatted yesterday and re-installed my game by it - now I have no traditional eq2 launchpad. It is convenient if you play multiple SOE games. Does anyone use the friends feature?

Not me here, I've only played EQ2 from SOE so started with the EQ2 launcher.

I am tempted to get the station launcher though as I'd like to give Matrix Online a go before its switched off, I've looked everywhere though and apart from a pay site that had a downloader for it it looks like it is not possible to get the game or the free trial any more, looks like I missed that one.

Edit : 5 minutes later I suddenly think of ebay, £4 inc P&P gets me a copy of the matrix online with 30 days of play, I kind of feel like one of those mad surfers though heading to the beach during a hurricane while everyone is evacuating :)

Edit again : Actually, just had a thought, they are giving away 1-2 months of station access or something like that for MxO players, I'm wondering if it will just be for ones of good standing? Or just everyone? Hoping the latter as it gives me a chance to try a lot of stuff out here.

Just the regular EQ2 launcher myself personally also, but I do not have Station Access so never really tempted myself to get it.

For some reason whenever I installed Station Launcher it zapped my EQ2 icon (which in turn F'd up my EQ2 maps launcher). I had to go reset it back up. I try to avoid the extra overhead of the launcher when playing eq2 (I shut down pretty much everything on my box that isn't needed).

That is because Station Launcher installs do not include an EQ2.exe file - that is the traditional launch pad. All you do is go to EQ2maps options panel and change the filename for the launch game option to everquest2.exe.
