In the past have you lured both MMO Noobs, and seasoned MMO players from one game to another? Do you think EQ2/WoW's recruit a friend efforts are good?

While not one to shovel my game preferences to others, I honestly believe that EQ2 is the best MMO on the market today, and try to throw in a few good points to the game whenever I can but try to avoid turning it into a war of the fanboi argument.
Despite "retiring" from EQ2 last year, I've always tried to promote the game positively to fellow gamers that I know IRL (both before retiring and during the "retired" period), but the excuses are generally the same for not switching. "I play WoW / Guild Wars / generic Free2play because I have a low-end PC and can't get EQ2 to run properly..." So there is a market out there for people to get into EQ2, the challenge is it seems that the majority of "average / fair weather gamers" don't have rigs that can handle EQ2 goodness the way the game they normally play can.
The second reason I encounter is that the individual in question has upgraded their pc, but won't leave their game because they have so much invested in it already (Characters, guild, friends etc) so there is a reluctance to move.
Drives me nuts :p
O.k. EQ2 has gone through some massive changes (some I've liked, some I've outright hated) but overall, it's still the best dang MMO out there. I just wish people would be more willing to just let go of their preferred game for a bit and honestly try it out (EQ2).
Now that I've come back, I'll be abusing the the "Recruit a friend" promo... Sending it out to even non-gamers... I fully expect a few "WTF phonecalls" :p But yes, I think the recruit a friend thing can be a good thing if the player base uses it.
