Curious if anyone has feedback on the voice chat feature now in EQ2. Better than Vent or Teamspeak?

Personally I think it might be the best addition to the game since the first expansion. The key for SOE was doing it and doing it right. If they had problems at the beginning it would blemish it for eternity. Personally I think it is phenomenally well done though and I really like how they didn't overload the UI with all these switches and confusing buttons for it. You have one channel and you can flip it between what you want in a pretty simple manner. You can always dive down into the options it you want, but it is implemented (UI wise) in a clean and simple UI method.

Very well done overall and I think it is much better/easier than TS/Vent servs.

I never bothered installing Vent or TS, so by definition much better. It's the only voice chat I've ever used online (well, unless you count one of my guildies actually phoning me up to talk me through my first raid back in EQ1!)

I have not experienced Teamspeak, but I have experienced Vent, WoW voice chat and the Day of Defeat Source voice chat, of the three vent is the only serious one and the EQ2 voice chat is better in my opinion because it seems to offer the same quality or better, plus its integrated into the game so I can start talking to guildies or party members straight away.

The DoD source one is not bad, but fairly low quality, and the WoW one is strange, its there and hidden away in the options, yet the quality is so variable, sometimes its as if you just cannot get any volume, other times its ok ish.

Its a quality addition to the game, I just like the idea of everyone having a vent equivalent service set up all the time.

Voice chat is nice for Pickup groups, but serious raiders will still use Vent/TS. If you suddenly go LD or suddenly reboot and can't get back in, you can still Speak, that is the one MAJOR plus. Other then that Voice Chat isn't bad and was a nice addition to the game.
