Out of the three characters I play the Warden is the one I'm still not sure on the best tactics here, while I primarily use him as a healer its the offensive solo tactics I'm not sure on. Without the AA abilities the tactics seem straight forward root and burn (and leg it when I pull too many ;) ). But adding in the AA abilities I get a couple of melee range magic attacks that seem to rely on my ability to physically hit but have shorter cooldowns, yet at the same time I'm wearing leather armour and are pretty squishy.
Is the Warden supposed to be a melee/magic user hybrid here where I build up my melee stats (strength + some agility I guess) balanced with magic stats of int and wisdom? Or should I treat melee as a last resort and just concentrate on wisdom for healing power pool and intellect for magic damage?
While I'm levelling kind of ok, and the healing part makes sense I've still got that feeling I'm got it all wrong with this class, if there are any pro's with Wardens out there I'd be interested to hear the best playstyle and what sort of balance of stats you go for and why.

I know many good Wardens and none of them can Damage their way out of a paper bag, even Fabled Out. Once wardens get their Epic, they pretty much never run out of power and can heal all night long. But Solo... its a bitch to do anything. They heal, do a tiny bit of damage, then heal, then a tiny bit more... The hell with that. Your supposed to be a healer, so unless your in a group, its a Loooooonng road to 80. Here is the best tactic for leveling a warden... Betray to a Fury :P

Cheers, the character is there first most to be a healer (since I have tanking and dps class characters already), but I've felt like I'm missing something with the tactics, from what you say I'm guessing then that the melee skills you can pick up with AA's aren't worth going for. Without them I'm kind of ok though taking on small groups I can heal through or one elite just so long as he stays rooted, at that point its just a question of how much power I have - and probably fortunate that I'm not on a PvP server since being rooted for 3 minutes while being frozen and burnt could be a bit frustrating ;)
One other small thing, on the racial traits you pick up every 10 levels is there any benefit to getting the fixed 5 power regen over the 2.5% extra power, so far I'm guessing that the bigger power pool always scales better?

My take on that would be it depends on what you are doing... if you are a raider, and you are doing 10 min battles, I would think the regen would be more useful, if you are soloing/ grouping, I would guess the power pool would be better. I have not done any research on this, but thats how I always looked at it.
