Everyone was pumping this up to a be MUST HAVE and a huge hit. But the more I read lately, the more people area going to EQ2. I'm still in EQ, in fact I 2 box it now. With my 2 box + 2 hired NPC mercs, I can experience damn near everything without having to worry about trying to get a group. I can't tell you how awesome of a time I am having there. Just for some reason, really enjoying it... I have no idea why...

Nonetheless, to my question. What happened to Warhammer? Thought most of you were all pumped about it.

It is still a good game, and I still have my account I just got left behind by our guild and really didn't enjoy not having anyone to group with on my tier, then Theo mentioned EQ2 again and I logged into one of my alts and got into some of the new lore for the expansion (D.I.R.T.Y gnomes etc) and have found myself steadily logging on each night.

I actually really, really like War for what it is. I maintain it does many things better than they have ever been implemented an MMO - RvR, keep warfare, scenarios - I mean the pvp is crazy good as a system. In addition the Tome of Knowledge is my particular favorite thing about the game. It makes the quest journal an encyclopedia and a meta game by itself. Finally, public quests are so good all MMO's will probably copy the idea.

I dislike the avatars somewhat - I say this about all games really - after playing EQ2 my toon is ugly everywhere else. Another thing is I don't feel I move well within the world, similar to early complaint with Vanguard - I feel I slide around or something.

Finally and most importantly - I like VG for being more hardcore, AoC for graphics and solo PvP and FFA siege PvP, War for true RvR content - all of these things I had complained EQ2 lacked - but in the end I came to realize each of these games lacks more that I enjoy about EQ2 than what they offer. With EQ2 there seems to be more for me to log in for.

And like Cyan, when I logged in and did the Loping Plains haunted house, the D.I.R.T.Y. live event stuff, and especially now with my new family project toon - I am crazy hooked :) Don't care to log in anywhere else. AoC doesnt have the same fun factor minus good PvP battles which are unpredictable, Warhammer pigeon holes me into a particular type of play (everyone levels through scenarios leaving the world mostly barren - big problem). EQ2 is just fun again.

I will keep War for a while though, it is my second game now (with some VG thrown in - have station access)
