Joined guild Leko is in tonight - Sovereignty - OMG guild halls are incredible! I must say I am blown away. When I asked for guild halls I never envisioned something on the scale that SOE implemented. Kudos to them.

Yea they are great. You will never really need to go into town again. Bank, Broker, Crafting Stations, WRIT NPCs, status merchants, mender, Druid Rings (with your own personal porting druid NPC), Sky Spires (with no wait time), even NPCs that will go out and harvest for you.

There is also a storage box for harvests. Anything put in this box, can be automatically used at any crafting station, so you don't need the components in your inventory. So basically the guild can stockpile components in it and everyone can use. We still keep rares in the bank, but they can be put in the box.

So I am completely enamored by Guild Halls. when they were announced 2 Vegas' ago I honestly was thinking that they would only be half assed done if they were also going to be working on the new expansion at the same time.
I was completely wrong, they are EXTREMELY well done and I have to give a hell of a Kudos for getting it right. I love having all these things in one place.
The only downside I really see for them is that it takes people out of the cities. which is both good and bad. Bad because it is always nice to have a centralized place for everyone to be at, but also good in the fact that Qeynos Harbor doesn't run like molasses on highest setting anymore because of all the bodies.

Quote:The other major change is the guild halls. Finally after years of not having a real purpose to having those hard to get guild levels. I mean there was some things to get out of guild halls, you could have a bigger house with a slight level, or somewhat faster and cooler looking horses… but the list was small and the rewards were meager. The guild halls finally give some oomph. They certainly are cool looking things to. Our guild has a medium hall in the city which I think is really more than enough for most guilds, the big ones are grand and really cool looking, but I don’t really know why anyone would need THAT much space… nor do I really knwo what you would put in all of it.
What do Guild Halls do? Well one of the major things they do is ruin the advanced that Echoes of Faydwer made in travel times. I know I am one of the few but I appreciated the boat trips that took 5 or 10 minutes to get to you. They made the world feel bigger, they slowed down the game for just a moment. Now it reversed, we have all the portals to anywhere I would want to go right in the entrance of our house. Worse still, they added a new portal that allows guild leaders to bring a flag to the beginning of raid instances so that no work is needed to go anywhere at all. Now don’t get me wrong, I understand how valuable this last bit is in particular, it really speeds up some raids that often took an hour just to get 24 people to the raid entrance. But still, it is a little disappointing in some ways.
Guild Halls in general seems to do everything they can to make the world easier, to make the world smaller, to make it feel lonelier. It seperates out people further than what they were. Now you have no community whatsoever, just your guild. If you have a decent sized guild you may not ever see anyone outside of it, at best you may see a few members from another allied guild from time to time, but mostly it is just yours. Great Post on guild halls over at Razakius.

Having the full size guild "castle" is awesome. I still keep finding new rooms, and a couple of our tradeskill nuts have done a truly incredible job decorating the place.

The new version they have out is soo easy to setup and there are many many benefits for every class, ESPECIALLY healers... 1 click status cures w/o targeting, priceless in the RoK raid zones.

I'm not sure where everyone is at and I think Theo has been in freeport leveling up a new character in order to betray eventually. For me, I'm in Arcadia which is a Qeynos guild formed from the old Kraken / Vae Victis exile guild. Here's the website for that guild. www.vvpvp.comThe other Qeynos based guild that is doing relatively well from a raid perspective is Fortitute. www.fortitudepvp.comAre you coming back to EQ2 Val? Leko (Main), Theodorik (did I get it right theo?) and Kezkelia/Pyan are in Soverignty. It isn't a raiding guild, and they have like 500+ members but everyone seems pretty cool. I have been working on Pyan here lately to try to get him into the 70s also before TSO so havent been raiding, if you are looking for a raiding guild they probably are not a good choice.

I dont really care much about raiding since I can't play every night. I will log back in. Should I continue with my main or should I get started on a new character? I am up for whatever, just want to have some peeps to play with at night. Does everyone log on to the eq2-daily chat channel in the game?
