So, tonight I started up the 2nd box character - Chatham (mage.) He went from 1 to 15 in 3.5 hours which isn't too bad, imho. Here are a few sights... I made it to the Guild Lobby and figured out where everyone is... Guilds have instanced houses in here with bankers, storage etc as best I can tell. Still trying to figure out how it works. My first rez spell at level 12 required me to journey way out to Neriak. Memories anyone? Extreme Makeover - Freeport Edition EQ is a mix of old and new. In North Ro the orcs all got a makeover but these classic guys didn't. So many stories about Sand giants in Oasis and Ro. Both of my dual boxes in action, owning a derv camp. Basically, killing everything that moved. I may slow up a bit over the weekend so it's a great time to catch up and join the action! Laz

I gotta say, I havent really played since they redid all the texturing after LDON. I am actually kinda impressed with the graphics (not vs any other games of today, but jsut impressed they redid them so well).
Also the Ro shots bring back some great memories.

Orc Highway in Ro - with new mob models... Spectre Camp in Ro - these actually look good, I think.

Haven't updated in a few days but thought I'd throw up a few more pics. Laz hit 40 this afternoon after getting some good group action going. Chatham (my dual box mage) is 39. My laptop shut down due to heat issues lol so he didn't finish the trek to 40. It's been awfully quiet on the forums - I have this feeling you guys are going all out with Warhammer. Hope to join you soon! Fighting bixies (new models) Bee Boss (finally a group) Stone Hive (and a new mount)

Woot, gratz on 40 man.
Have you found dual boxing easier or harder than previously on EQ?

I think he answer to Cyan's question above must be easier. It took me many months to get to 40 back in the day.

I have mixed feelings on dual boxing and the EQ1 newbie experience in general. I prefer to just focus on one main character and not have to fool with keeping two guys going at one time. With two characters, it seems like the exp comes a bit slower but it's not too bad to date. The mage/cleric works well because the cleric can't generate hate from healing the pet and the pets are rather versatile. Plus, the mage has decent dps. Interestingly enough, so far I've had the cleric tanking and that's worked pretty well. Over the weekend, I ditched the mage and really had fun just playing the cleric as I found two random pugs that were fantastic and people always want a healer. In fact, I don't think I've seen another healer sub 40 in the week and a half I've been playing EQ1 again.
It would be better to have a static party to level up with. Our guild has a group of 30ish characters that are playing on Tuesday nights. The main guild group pushed up to 55 so at 40 I'm kinda in-between. There is a cleric spell called Temperance that you have to quest for, and the spell is great but trying to get the quest done is very reminiscent of old school EQ challenges. It's fun but it's also dauntingly difficult at the same time.
For sure, leveling is much easier these days but the lower levels are really a ghost town and you have to really persevere to get through them. You get spoiled in other MMOs these days, it's kinda shocking actually playing something like EQ where you really have to endure "pain." For example, you level so fast your casting skills fall way behind. The only reasonable way to raise them is to sit there and spam low level spells. If I wanted to catch up to their max spell casing level in all of the schools, I guarantee that would take 8+ hours on each character just sitting there spamming a key. I may get one skill up in 20 button mashes. Mixed feelings for sure...
