Malazan Book of the Fallen Series (vol 1 - 10)So I am about 80% done with the first book in this series
Gardens of the Moon. Let me say this:
BAD FUCKING ASS BOOK
I really liked Fire and Ice (RR Martin) but for some reason I didn't feel a push to go from teh 1st book in his series to the 2nd one. Don't get me wrong the first book was really well done, it just kinda felt like 1 little story (with some questions that didn't get answered of course) but I felt like I had finished the book and wanted to move on to another book (I have a queue of probably about 50 books waiting to be read, no lie), with this book though I absolutely love the world that Erickson has developed, I really really want to know more about it. I am hoping that after this 10 book series and then his partner Ian Esslemont's 4 book series that they (or someone else they allow) go back and revisit some of the past before the
Genabackis campaign etc.
I can't recommend this book to anyone who enjoys high fantasy mixed with political overtones (if you like RR Martin it is pretty similar, maybe with a little less politico and more fantasy thrown in). I already bought books 2 and 3 in the series and they are next on my fiction reading queue, I have a feeling I will plow through all 7 of the 10 that are out before Xmas.
NOTE: If you reply to this and have already read the series PLEASE DON'T Drop Spoliers... do it in another thread marked as *spoilers*
