I'm pretty sure Warhammer will be my next MMO.
Looks good so far.

You guys play DAoC at all?
Except for cannons, they had all that there too (of course).
Watching the Trebuchet fire was cool as hell.

Watching the Trebuchet fire was cool as hell. I have it (bought the whole thing for like $10), but I never even installed it... I suppose I should try it at some point. My task is done/My song has ceased/My theme has died into an echo/It is fit.

I always enjoyed the setting (I love vikings, but played the elf lands mostly because my wife liked them better :) ). We played initially when it came out, then went back and tried it again like 6 months ago. It was fun, but ultimately the end game is RVR and my PC wasn't handling the massive battles that went on too well so we didn't stick with it more than a few months. Was able to level two characters to max level in that time though.
The only thing that seems different between DAoC and this is the points where you can place the seige. in DAoC, you could place it anywhere. If you can only place it in selected spots in WAR, it's going to be very important to control those spots. Having 3 or 4 trebs out to knock a hole in the wall was pretty useful.
Never saw balista used much. Mostly just trebs and rams for getting in through the gates.
