I checked out the 10 day trial but didn't continue after that. I think I got to about lvl 15, never did any pvp'n. Overall I just felt like the game was almost identical to EQ2 but not as good.

Everything i have read says that on the pvp servers, you need to get your mojo up on normal pvp before you hit the battle grounds :) I have a 21 warlock and just started leveling an 11 priest this weekend, I might try with the priest tonight just to see how it is. As i understand it you just need to talk with one of the "emmisiaries" in the main cities right? They put you into a group (based on 2v2,3v3,5v5) and then you go from there?

The pvp seems interesting and I had hoped to level up to it, but I can't get past the cartoony graphics I dont think. I don't know why that is such a hurdle for me but it is.
And it just reminds me why I am an EQ2 gamer - obviously this is personal perception - but for me EQ2 just seems a better experience - shows how disconnected I am considering I am part of minority - and its not close :)

Just wondering others thoughts Oh, I'm definitely in. It really depends on a few things: 1. Level. You're perfect there, so that shouldn't be a problem. 2. Stats. I know on my hunter, my default loadout has melee weapons that do damage... but as a hunter, the stats made more difference than the damage I did with the weapons, since if I get into melee with a melee class, I'm toast. 3. Potions. There's a fine line between them- I tend to use health potions that can heal all or most of my health exclusively. I see people using swiftness potions, but they cost too much for my taste. And usually if I run out of mana, I either have enough time to drink or am dead in any case- a little more mana won't change either of those cases. I play a hunter and a paladin, so I can't say much for your tactics, though I can say that a hunter is surprisingly effective- sunday I played 4 or 5 wsg and got 121 kills total... I was very surprised. But from what I know, mages need clique installed or something similar that will allow them to blink/absorb in a moment's notice; even pressing a key is too long in some cases. My pally can do 600+ points of damage in less than 2 seconds- mages that don't blink or absorb *really* quick are pretty much toast against him. I've never seen a mage successfully run the flag- you want to stay as support or distraction, i.e. if someone is going against the flag runner- then toast him. He either has to kill you or die; mages are dps for a reason in that case. Don't switch to try to find out who is attacking you unless you don't have a target- it's better to stay on your target no matter what. And always remember that there are twinks- people that have spent 300+ gold on their character. You can't beat them in most cases unless you are a twink, so don't let them get you down. My task is done/My song has ceased/My theme has died into an echo/It is fit.

I disagree with that statement. I've *never* played overland pvp, but am consistently near the top of the ladder on battlegrounds. The reason to bg (or arena) vs plain pvp is risk vs reward. In bg or arenas, your equipment doesn't take as much damage, and you not only get honor, but marks. These marks can be turned in at the appropriate vendor to buy blue and even purple stuff. (for people that don't know, the tiers in wow are gray, white, green, blue, and purple as opposed to mastercrafted, etc.) As far as I know, there are two battlemasters for each level range- you find them in the city. The emissaries are not wandering in most cases- you go to the main warrior training place in general. For 20-29 (the only range I've played) you have Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin. WSG is straight capture the flag, while Arathi basin is a micro scale rts- you capture resource points, and while you hold them you get victory points- the first team to 2000 vp wins. You can also win by capturing all 5 resource points. it's not based on how many people, persay it's just *up to* 10 on 10. WSG is good to just jump into- some people have premade groups, and they're hard to fight against since they work so well together. But it's great fun in any case, and you get honor and marks whether you win or lose. Arathi Basin takes longer, and the queues are longer since you need more people since there are five resource points to spread out among. I've never played arenas, but those are where the 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 come in. At the place where the battlemasters are, there is also an arena master. But that's about as much as I can tell you about it. You can find more info at wowwiki http://www.wowwiki.com/Arena_PvP_System.It's great fun, and while I was skeptical at first, I've really grown to like it.
