For you WoW vets, I am using my 10 day free trial of burning crusade and like our podcast hosts have sought for EQ2 I want to know those "what I wish I knew then" things as it pertains to WoW.

Tips, UI mods, pvp advice, etc.

Tip #1 - There IS A TRAM Between Ironforge and Stormwind. Certain podcast hosts did not know this and proceeded to walk through many many many many lvl 50+ areas to get to the other city and it took over 3 hours of death to make it. Little did I know gnomes built a tram underground that will skirt you between the two cities.

Playing WoW early impressions help me appreciate so many things about EQ2.

I have mentioned this before but it can't be overstated. The EQ2 design team have created the most realistic, fluid character models and character animations in all MMO land. What I take for granted with EQ2 became what I couldn't stand about Vanguard and what is only tolerable in WoW - the look of toons and especially there animation/movements.

The EQ2 UI is much more powerful out of the box. As with so much else, WoW simplifies/streamlines everything about their game. Now, there are some powerful custom ui things out there for WoW but I have not had enough time to get into that.

No sprint in WoW? I mean really, are you serious? Seriously, honestly, shouldnt a sprint ability just be standard? :)

Quest Journal - again, out of the box the EQ2 quest journal is a better interface than WoWs.

Most importantly - EQ2 has the far better looking females :)

I havent invested a huge amount of time into it yet to make any big judgements but:

Lua and the WoW Add-On Scripting Language it about the most powerful I have ever seen in an MMO. It is actually pretty insane what all they give you access to so you can write your own widgets and add-ons and the framework and documentaion (and community) is pretty awesome. Over all i think Wow trumps EQ2 on this one.

Sprint - Totally agree. It is annoying not to be able to sprint especially when you are in the early levels without chickens.

Quest journal - This was one of the first things I updated with an add-on called Light Headed which gives you access to WoWHead's API which is pretty sweet.

Agree on females. big time.
