Before listening to him I started with the impression of him being a scumbag, but he does come over better in his talk about wanting to keep the hackers out.
The problem is in my opinion he is still a scumbag who does what he does to make a easy profit at the expense of the game, at best he's fueling botting and farming, at worst since he has no real way of knowing where the gold he shifts around in his capacity as a "broker" comes from (which he conveniently doesn't mention) then he's fueling account hacking.
In short I pity the fools who buy it, as technically they're paying someone else to play the game for them (if they find the game that boring then perhaps they should find something actually enjoyable to do?), at least to me it seems daft.
Perhaps SOE, Blizzard and others should design their games with more features like NO-TRADE/HEIRLOOM and status that lower the buying power of the in game currency? Its a tough balance to strike since it can reduce the virtual economic activity between players though.
