Their customer service really pissed me off.

The other night drunken raid (as usual) I found someone cursing at me in one of the public channels. I cursed back at him and it was over. Then I get a tell from a GM saying that I needed to stop. I've never EVER gotten a tell from a GM before so I figured it was one of this guys buddy's since I really put him in his place in the public chat channel. I typed "/who all GM" and nothing came up so I told the GM she was full of shit and started going off on her. Next thing I know my account is suspended for 4 days. My 1st offense in 4 years and this is how they treat me. Long story short, they were very rude to me on the phone when I called the next day. Apparently you can't even cancel a suspended account. What a headache, I spent over 2 hours on the phone with them.

This made me laugh so I thought I'd share the GM email...

Hi Maddrox,

This is Lead GM Dunzensever. Unfortunately ignorance on your part as to GM Kaerytha's status as a Game Master is no excuse for the way in which you spoke to her. The Terms of Service are very specific about what to do when given an instruction by a GM, and it's expected that you've read it and agree to it. Instead you turned what would have been a courtesy warning about your language (which wasn't even going to end up on your account) into a confrontation when it had absolutely no need to.

Saying things like, "What's twisting your tit now" shows a pretty stark disregard to those Terms of Service, and so rescinding your suspension isn't something that I'm going to consider. If the consequences of your actions here are unacceptable, moving to another game is certainly your prerogative, but please be aware that their Terms of Service are likely to be very similar to ours.

Regards,

Lead GM Dunzensever

I thought GM's names looked differently in some way.

I wish I had screen-shoted the conversation before they booted me (Mid Raid). Its a little fuzzy but I do remember calling her sweet cheeks and asking her to have this pillow talk after the raid cause I was busy.

When I kept getting tells that I wasn't even reading cause I was trying to DPS, that's when I responded with "Whats twisting your tit now"

Looking back I opened my SOE account with EQ1 on April 12, 2001. Almost 10 years of paying them monthly and they won't cut me a break. Had I known it was a GM I would have been more respectful. :)

Must have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. I swear in chat all the time.. especially in BGs. I really shouldn't though.

Do you know if anything happened to the person that was cursing at you?

From what my guildies said on vent, he stayed online and wasn't booted like I was. I was only supposed to get a written warning in a tell, but since I didn't believe she was an actual GM, I was a dick to her. I don't think SOE employee's like being called "Sweet Cheeks" and the "What's twistin your tit now?" comment seemed to really piss her off.

Maybe the other guy got a warning and was respectful about it.

btw I cooled off and turned my account back on.

Playing EQ2 for 4 years... I free'd up soo much time that I didn't know what to do with it all. I also missed my guild so I'm back to raiding again while my raid spot was still open.

I still say fuck SOE, they treated a 10 year subscriber like shit, but I missed playing. Guess I'm hooked.

For a second I thought I was reading the WoW forums. I thought EQ2 players were a step above. Maybe I'm wrong.

Your reply to the GM though sounded familiar here, then I remembered the Mr Manly and the manly manual, the result was about the same, out of interest what page was the lesson for replying to female GMs? ;) At least she was left in no doubt what sort of man you were :D

Seriously though, its great your back, I think you were just unlucky to get a touchy GM there, its sort of hilarious looking back on your drunken reply :)

Not familiar with Mr. Manly there but I originally stole the line from Jay and Silent Bob Strike back and slightly modified it. When I get shitfaced I like to quote my beloved stoner comedies I used to watch religiously in high school.

I'm glad u get the humor in it Lomax, Yaris seemed to be talking down to me for whatever reason. Maybe I misunderstood him. This is not a bragging post about cursing at someone, but I laughed my ass off when the GM sent me that letter quoting what I said, so I thought I'd share.
