Hey guys,
EQ2-Daily has been a hobby project of mine since EQ2's launch. I have loved every minute of it.
However, I have felt that lately our conversations on this forum have turned to a more generic mmo/gaming nature. One thing I have really wanted to do in the last few months is to reinvigorate this community a little more and get some new members. Since we all are playing different games ( one new AAA just launched and some other big
AAA titles are on the horizon) I wanted to make sure that the site's domain would appeal to people from other games. When you are talking in another mmo's chat and mention "EQ2-daily" people automatically assume that the chat will be EQ2 only, which it isn't, but that is hard to convey.
So I decided to create new forums (updated code base too!) over at:
http://www.guildm8s.comI plan on importing the most discussed threads from the last 3 weeks over to there, but all other conversations will stay here on EQ2-Daily and locked down. I think this allows us to keep the boards over there fresh, but also leave a piece of these boards here where they originated and thrived. I honestly have not decided about the future of this site yet. If anything at some point I would like to keep it in archive form somewhere. There are still a TON of people who come to this site daily looking for information on EQ2 via search engines and I don't want to deprive them of that while they play a great game.
A lot of you do pay attention to your "mojo" here on EQ2-daily which is a way of ranking, one of the base statistics I use in that is the points you get from posting here on EQ2-Daily's message board, so if you sign up over at guildm8s with the same login name you use here I will import those statistics and link you up with whatever conversations that are imported to guildm8s.
I love this community and being part of it and I hope to see it thrive over at guildm8s.com. If you encounter cool people in whatever game you are playing please tell them about the site, I will be happy to drop them a personal PM welcoming them and any help needed in getting them setup.
Who knows, you may even see some more podcasts at guildm8s soon. ;)
Thanks to all the EQ2-Dailians, hope we can all get along as Guildm8s.
