Its awkward at best, if not a really bad decision PR and financial decision by Electronic arts to include taking the role of a Taliban in, when they are currently trying to kill your own countries troops. I can see this tarnishing EA's reputation with a lot of people, for little financial benefit.

A better decision in my opinion would have been to left them off until Afghanistan is something historical.
