For those who haven't heard:
USD Current Starting Nov 1, 2010
1M Gold: $7.99 1M Gold: $9.99 3M Gold: $19.99 3M Gold: $24.99 12M Gold: $49.99 12M Gold: $59.99 Seems that Twitter is in an uproar over this price hike.
I personally think Xbox Live is worth $99 a year, and if I were MS thats what I would price it at :) If you buy the annual membership for $60 a year and play 20 hours of Xbox a month online that's .25c an hour to be able to play online + cost of the game. However, as if evident with my friends list, literally 50% of my list is watching Netflix at any given point in an evening. So this stretches the cost per hour out even more.
Playstation 3 introduced a yearly fee for "Plus" members. I am in the Hulu Plus Beta so I decided to get the Plus account so I could watch Hulu Plus on the PS3. What a waste. Hulu plus isn't bad at $10 a month, but to pay and extra $50 a year for PS3 "Plus" is such a waste. I have seen no good content come out for "ps3 plus" members at all. I won't be re-subbing to PS3 plus next year in any manner. As I understand it Hulu Plus will be hitting the 360 in January, if the 360 could also just pick up MLB.TV from the PS3 then I would be set. MLB.TV and Blu Ray movies are about all the use my PS3 gets these days other than the occasional game of Fat Princess. That might change when GT5 hits, but I don't think it will much. If I take into account how much I feel like I wasted paying $50 a year for PS3 Plus account then it really puts Xbox Live's $60 a year into perspective as a HUGE bargain.
