I never played GW, how did the instancing work? Is it the same in GW2?

I liked the instancing. You were in town with other people but when you left town you had your own little world. Made it so you didn't have to camp mobs or wait while someone else killed the named for their quest. I think GW2 will continue to use instancing but less of it. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild_Wars_2Quote:There will be changes to the instancing system used. Persistent areas, similar to those traditionally used in other online multiplayer games, will be introduced to Guild Wars which may allow players to meet and interact while exploring. Instances will still be used to further storytelling within the game and for missions and dungeons.

I have gotten to where I don't mind instancing at all. I hope that pvp will be integral though. The classes looks great: Professionsand I really love the art direction of the first one, almost seems arcadish. Will probably be giving 2 a try:

JG: We have not revealed the full details of our PvP yet, we’re saving that for later. But what we can tell you now is that we will have two distinct modes of PvP. One will be the competitive PvP you are familiar with, where experience doesn’t matter and it’s purely down to player skill. And there’s the new element of PvP which we call “role versus role”, where one GW2 server will play against another GW2 server in something we call “the Myth”.
