74 PLEX, at a cost of $14.95 per month of game time, were destroyed by Method Of Destruction players. That amount of PLEX could have been used for six years, two months of EVE subscription time and cost $1106.30 US to whomever purchased the game time initially. All 74 PLEX cards were destroyed in the PvP battle, leaving CCP the benefactor of $1106.30 worth of unrecoverable destroyed virtual goods.Good read by Blackguard: PK Your Savings Away? Don’t Mind if I Do. As someone who doesn't play EVE I really enjoy watching how much they progress (regress?) MMOs. At least they are taking chances.

I just love Eve.
For those who have only played PvP in EQ2 - Eve provides a more pure PvP experience. It's not player vs. developer vs. player. It's player on player baby.
I also wish the PLEX system would make its way to EQ2.
Imagine someone that needs Plat but they don't want to buy it from Gold farmers.
They go out and buy a 30-day game card.
They list that game card in the broker for X Plat.
Someone who has extra Plat buys the game card and applies it to their account.
It really is a win-win situation.
SoE makes money because someone had to buy the 30 day game card.
The player who needs Plat gets it from another player.
The player with extra Plat gets 30 days of game time.
