You subscribe one toon so the 15.00 per month so you get all the benefits and then you 2 box a free account. Can't agree with is more. This is def a boon to people with multiple accounts. Even without multiple accounts I plan on moving my characters over as long as there is a f2p pvp serv.

I really like this attitude: Quote:Okay... I know there is alot of negativity going around about this new program and as a current live subscriber I am trying to see this from all sides.
If I were a casual player- not interested in raiding or having the best gear... I just want to come home from a crappy day and relax and have some fun , how much will I get out of the Bronze/Silver tier of game:
1. Minimal bank slots-
* I can do the harvest quest- get the huge harvest box- place that in bank slot
* Procure the largest bag I can from questing or crafting to place in 2nd Slot
2. Crafting - Instead of looking at how much I can get from players for my wares, I am looking at it from a selfish- only for my character viewpoint.
*Complete the tutorial and select one of the 3 groups to level to 20
This will give me access to the use of better food and drink, Journey spells for my low level.
3. Work on Adornment- creating stat addons for my character
4. Work on Tinkering- fun stuff!
5. Collect EVERY shiny collection
6. Learn EVERY language
7. Do every Legend & Lore quest for cool items and books for my home.
8. Do the Heritage quests- Even tho the items cannot be worn/used- most can be converted to trophys.
9. Do all quests that give furniture and house items to Decorate.
10. Earn Slayer Titles and other in game title achievements.
I am sure there is more but these alone should keep my Bronze or Silver character busy for a very long time. Add to the above all the game elements related to being in a guild and there is so much stuff a Bronze level player can do. In addition, think about the additional challenges that come with being a Bronze level player. All of a sudden - playing EQ2 is a little more difficult. Thinking of new and interesting ways of working around the bag and coin restrictions might be fun in themselves.

I recently just canceled a second account my son primarily played on. This type of server however is perfect for homes with multiple players like mine as well - not just two-boxers.
The single biggest problem that I see and as others have pointed out - will this lead to an exodus of players away from the traditional servers?
Server consolidation will come soon I would think, not necessarily due to loss of players but because of the large transitioning of players.

And how does that work for pvp servers? :(

And how does that work for pvp servers? :( If they follow the Vanguard model, that would mean they would disappear. EQ2 is much healthier though so I don't see that happening anytime soon. I do think SOE would love to have everyone migrate towards the F2P servers and eventually (after many consolidations) make F2P the only model for EQ2.

Probably doubtful since Nagafen is the second largest server to AB currently. Also so much attention with Warfields lately. It would require a dramatic exodus away from Nafafen or SOE would be ticking off the players of one of their healthiest servers. However, it would certainly be advantageous for SOE to scrap pvp as it would free resources. Further reason why a game is either pvp from ground up or not. In this case pvp has always been secondary for SOE.

Also, I wonder if having the Battlegrounds helps SoE in dropping PvP because still have a PvP avenue.

I would be very surprised if they ditched PVP completely outside of BGs, but I'm getting the feeling that they are looking to turn away from the hardcore raid scene. The other question I have here is what other servers types will be up and running for EQ2X? Apart from a PVE and PVP server, will there be a RP server? Will there be an English server? German? French? Japanese? I'm guessing myself there won't be an RP server for sure, but to replace the EQ2 current servers they'd need to have something for the others, will have to find out what their plans are at the Fanfaire, and also get a feel for how the raiding scene fits into their future plans. (Raiding isn't just a hardcore activity, Blizzard a while back stated that >50% of their playerbase took part in raiding one of the level cap raids, which makes sense since there wasn't much else to do, but it does show that the "hardcore" label is very inaccurate).
