Anyone know of a site where I can learn more about raiding in eq2? Anything with timelines, how to setup a raid and SF raid progression would be awesome!

Don't know if there is one site that spells it all out for you, but if your looking for strats ...

http://www.eq2zone.com/

You will have to register, but they have some good base strats for SF raid zones. Take everything you read with a grain of salt and remember you may have to tweak these to work for your raid, but a GREAT place to start when you have no info on a new fight.

I've been raid leader for a casual guild for a few years now, we only raid 2-3 hours a night 3 nights a week, and we all have busy lives. Also being an EST raiding guild, its nice I can get on after the kids are in bed. We don't progress as fast as the more hardcore guilds but we just enjoy playing together and figuring out new strats with each other. We are far more geared then your average player cause we farm the raid zones as much as we can.

Our Main Tank group consists of Plate Tank, Dirge, Chain Healer, Plate healer, Coercer, and Swashy (for hate Xfer), OT group should be as close to that as possible. I then have a mage group with Troubie, Illy, Necro, Conjy, Wizzy, and healer. And the last group is usually what I call the "Short Bus Group" and its where I make the best of the classes I have left.

A few pieces of advice I can give ya from my experience...

-In a X4 raid you will want one bard and one enchanter per group. The groups with no chanter run out of power and bards do wonders buff wise. This makes things 100 times easier.
-If you guys are new to raiding you will most likely want 2 healers per group also.
-Extra tanks dont do much for the raid and you should never need more then 3 tanks. (Most cases you will only need 2)

I've been raiding EQ2 for years and loving raids this expansion more then ever. They really did a great job with the raid zones this time. I'd be happy to answer any question from my experience, so either ask here or PM me. Some more the more hardcore guilds like to keep their raid info **Hush Hush** for whatever reason, so you may not find a lot of info out there.

Thanks, Dude.

I was just promoted to Battlegrounds Officer in my guild - so - I'll be focusing more on that.

I realize you don't need the information anymore, but figured someone else coming upon this thread might...

Raid progression is generally posted in two places: EQ2 Guild Progress Website and EQ2 Flames Forum. Warning people take this VERY seriously, so do not post unless you really did it (with your guild - not two members of your guild and the rest filled by random people).

As far as raiding timeline, I haven't really found a "great" site for that yet. But the site recommended above is turning out to be a good resource. You can however, also refer to the EQ2 wiki Raid Timeline which may assist you some.

Best Wishes,

Good Luck with your new job, being a guild officer is a lot of extra work (Especially leading raids) that you don't get any benefit for doing. Its a shitty job, but someone has to do it. :)

As for your x4 PVE raids, Lair of the Dragon Queen (Easy Mode) and Icy Keep are the easiest places to start. 1st 2 named in Labs and the 1st named in Palace arn't too bad either... just keep farming gear. Also make sure you can get 4 bards, 4 enchanters, and atleast 6 healers (8 preferred, especially starting out)
