Interesting read on the new guy. Thoughts? Seems like a bit of a rookie to me with no real relevant experience. I don't get it, to be honest. http://www.massively.com/2010/04/20/the-tattered-notebook-a-moment-with-dave-georgenson/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+Massively+(Massively)

So, honestly, I haven't played EverQuest II a lot except in recent history, when I started to work for SOE again. Now I'm a pretty happy player, of course, and I spent my entire weekend on it. Gotta catch up!
Seriously?

And he has zero PvP experience. I am a little worried how that will effect PvP in the game.

Hence my concern. Hey, at least he's played "all weekend." I think that puts us in good hands, right? :/ I read another interview that was equally as disturbing. In a nutshell it says morale was down way too low under Brenlo and he's the morale guy. He is a big microtransaction guy and a guy who I think will dumb down EQ2 to make it easy to get in for 5 minutes and get something accomplished. On the positive side, he said we don't need to be another WOW clone (which I feel like the game was becoming) and he says that the next expansion will make everyone happy (which I think means it will be Velious.) The new producer posted this over on the OF in response to my question about his PvP experience. " I was working at Activision when we did MechNet (one of the very first PvP computer experiences) and worked on the Mech II series, as well as Heavy Gear 2. I Produced/Directed "Tribes 2" I Produced/Directed "PlanetSide" I was an avid player of RvR in DAoC I've played countless years of tabletop minature strategy games (and even ran a company that did that for a living)."Intresting but he is also comparing FPS games with MMO style PvP not really the same IMO.

Intresting but he is also comparing FPS games with MMO style PvP not really the same IMO. I guess at least it is there. I would still rather him have been someone with the team for awhile that really has a passion for the game (even if not pvp).
