I posted up phase 1.10 of alpha for the iphone tonight for eq2-daily. I know some of you guys have some quality iphone love, so please give this a spin when you are sitting on the throne tomorrow (I am a strong believer that 50% of iphone web browsing occurs on a toilet).

So what does superduper alpha phase v1.10 have in it?

1.) News browsing. (with link movement to comments - iphone style comments will come soon)
2.) Loggin in/ Logging out of account
3.) Voting up with Mojo on news items.

Its still early, but it is the beginning of a good work in progress.

How do I get to this super kinda semi secret version?

http://www.eq2-daily.com/m/

I will begin to redirect all iphone traffic to eq2-daily here when I get to what I feel is a good beta version.

How do I create a shinny app icon you say?

On main news page, press that + button at the bottom.

Press "Add to Home Screen"

Name it what you want.

Woot, sexyness all over that bottom right corner.

Let me know what you guys think, it isn't the most beautiful thing right now, but The Jab will sweeten it up once the utility is all there.

Roadmap:

Alpha v.85 -
Inline iphone style Comments on News Items

Alpha v.90 -
User Page viewing (for your own and others)

Alpha v.95
Forum Browsing

Beta v1.0 - (release to regular eq2-daily population)
Forum Reply - Conversation

Beta v1+-
Not sure yet, will see what gets used.

Please give me any feedback you have on it, good or bad. I will be honest in saying iphone dev is completely new to me. I take a lot of things for granted in windows programming, and there are sure to be small things you guys notice that can help this be a better app before I start redirecting iphone traffic from eq2-daily to this mobile site.

Woot!

I may be PM'ing you with some questions also kotton. I didn't have a droid to test with although I did create it in a fashion that should hold with Droid users also. You have made my day.

Let me know anything you encounter with it that is odd, phase 2 is coming soon.

One issue I am having - the button on my home page does not keep me logged in even though the option to do so is turned on

if I log onto normal webpage through safari keeps me logged in

Cheers for this, It seems to work great on my Windows 6.0 mobile phone (a Toshiba Portege 910) using Opera 8.65, probably an ancient version of Opera though as its what came with the phone, the version of IE with the phone displayed everything but not the EQ2 bar and login data.

I think the windows 7 phone (if I get one) is a year off probably here, still using a clamshell :) I think wireless HDMI might swing it for me with a new phone.
