OK, long story as to why, but basically I have no formal high speed internet solutions where I live. I currently use a Sprint EVDO card with a 5GB limit per month. I recently just purchased Televa Unlimited card that's on the way, but nonetheless I don't want to use for Streaming Media online, etc...

OK, so.... PLEASE HELP find a solution!!

I want to be able to record OTA (Over-The-Air) digital signal to my PC into an external drive. I want to do it as cheap and as efficiently as possible, but I am not even sure where to start.

I did see this: http://www.amazon.com/SiliconDust-HDHomeRun-HDHR-US-Definition-Television/dp/B0010Y414Q/ref=cm_cmu_pg_t

And it got me thinking. I probably don't need this, but I am wondering if anyone has a good solution to be able to record and DVR Over-The-Air digital signal and store in my computer and watch when I want. So it's kinda a DVR on my PC or something? I dunno, maybe I am missing the concept or something, but I'd like to find a solution for this.

Holla, you know where to find me on facebook too if you need to.

Not sure I quite know what you mean Dardore, are you saying you want some kind of DVR device for over the air High Definition (ie not through the wire)? Once you get the signal in via an antenna, I don't see what any computer or DVR can't just record the inbound stream.

Is this what you are asking?

Just need a TV card in your computer or some kind of TV IN. They sell these at Best Buy. The HD ones are a little more expensive and you will also need an antenna.

OK, I am going to running this through the Laptop and don't have a slot to put in a CARD inside the laptop. So I am guessing I would need some sort of USB source?

Are you saying I just need this?

Would I not need a Digital Converter box or anything?

What about the recording, DVR abilities?
