I assume it will be on the same engine as War is on now (which isn't a bad thing). Kinda excited about this one, as I loved it on tabletop. Do you guys think it will have the same surge that WAR did, and then fade back down to EQ2 levels? An Early Look At Warhammer 40,000 @ Kotaku

I'd actually hope it was on a better engine then the current WAR, I remember being totally bowled over when you put up screen shots for that (and questioning if they were cut scenes), but experiencing it in the game it felt too often like 2D wrapped around 3D compared to EQ2, then again most games give me this feel by taking graphical short cuts.
The concept art looks cool and very faithful to the 40K universe (the orc flyer looks a little too perfect though as I'd picture the plates being more crudely wielded together).
The one thing there that does really interest me though is the Warhound Titan, is that something they are planning to add in as a backdrop, or is this part of the game?
If its the latter then the scale of the game would have to be huge, looking elsewhere on the site I do see they promise "large scale combat" with the ability to form squads and chapters, that sounds suspiciously like squads, platoons and outfits a La Planetside. Looking around elsewhere again I do see they are planning a MMORPG, I'm confused!
I suppose by squads they mean EQ2 groups, and Chapters are Guilds, the more I read about this the less like Planetside it appears to be, but I think this is not going to repeat the big launch and fade of many of the recent PVP orientated titles (hoping Planetside 2 can find the right formulae here too for sticking power), I think this one if they put a real story and progression of end game in there it could go far.
