Do they use a zoning system like EQ2 or streaming of new zones? Are there load times when you move from zone to zone?
Can you walk/fly to any place you can see? In EQ2 there is a lot of pathing - for example in Everfrost you can't climb even the smallest banks.
Do you get the sense they will add new character specializations later? Now it seems there are 4 classes with 2 specializations for each one. Any chatter of expanding those?
How do you learn new spells/skills? Do you simply buy the spell and scribe it? Is there a process to learn a new skill?
Do items get damaged and need repair? Is this based on use or death?

You move zone to zone (no zone lines) the majority of the time. However when you go to the big city or out of it you technically zone.

The flying seemed pretty freeform to me, I am sure there are places with restrictions though (borders, etc)

No, haven't at all. I wouldn't get hopes up. Been waiting for 4 years in eq2 ;)

You purchase skill books from trainers for both active and passive skills.

I believe there is item deterioration but I didn't get to far into it. When you die, you have to get "mended" every now and then (soul repair).
