I'm not currently playing EQ2 so I'm curious as to the nuts and bolts of how research assistants work.
I know that you have to either craft or buy the spell to begin - then you visit the RA to have it upgraded to the next level. What I'm curious about is time.
If you have a level 80 toon and you want to take an Adept IV to M1 - how long would that take? Can you go higher than M1?
How fast is it at the lower levels? If you have a level 20 toon with an Adept I - how long to Adept II?
Thanks for the intel.

I'm still a long way from level 80 here, although enjoying myself enough at the lower levels with three characters, just getting into the sinking sands after ages hopping around the Feerrot, very impressed with what I have seen so far.
But I've used the research assistant once so far to go from an adeptIII I believe to a master, I think it took 12 days for a level 48 spell on my guardian, could be wrong but it was certainly no less then 8 (we started a week late in Europe with GU52). I just keep some sort of research going all the time since when its complete you get an in game mail. I do like the feature, its added a level of time progression without the game feeling noticeably easier for it.

Thanks for the intel. I've only used it to go from ADEPT III to Master I so far. As far as I know it can't get any higher then Master I. A level 80 Spell takes about 30 RL days to get your master. The lower level the spell, the quicker it takes. So my lvl 30 something special skill would only take about a week. On my Swashy I picked my Offensive stance into it and it only had a few days left last I looked. I've never done it with just ADEPT I so I'm not sure how that works. I currently have 2 level 80 Fabled out mythical characters so I won't have a chance to check it out in the lower levels for quite some time.
