Now that I'm back in game after a long break I'm really worried about the health of the EQ2.
I'm playing a 73 Fury and it is near impossible to find a group and soloing with a Fury (to me) isn't so much fun. I'm forced to do quests that require mostly delivering stuff or telling someone their brother is dead. Groups seems to be looking for Wardens or chain/plate healers.
For fun I went adventuring since the toon I'm playing now hasn't been around much.
I went to DoF and saw virtually no one. I went to PoF. Same thing.
I did a /who in Jarsath Wastes and got 12 people back. Fens was empty. I felt like the guy in 28 Days Later after he weeks up in the hospital.
I was missing a few Legend and Lore quests so I went to get the starters for them. Decided to kill some clockwork things to get updates on that L&L. Entire zone was empty.
On the official forums there was a
post by a red name that said SoE is brainstorming ideas for server mergers. It seems they are aware of the issue.
Quote:
There has been a lot of chatter about this, but I wanted to let everyone know that absolutely no final decisions have been made about EQII servers in terms of either opening a new one and/or merging two existing ones.
There are lots of ideas and suggestions floating around the team about what we'd like to see. Almost as many as there are people on the team right now.
Merging two servers is a lot of work for EQII and not something you can really undo. Opening one up is a bit less work, but its a lot of work I do personally so it seems big! Before anything happens we'll be doing a lot more investigation into what is best. And any serious thinking about it won't happen until the new year.

I am very worried that EQ2 is going to get top heavy and that may lead SoE to do something like the NGE (or whatever it was called) that was done to SWG.
I"m not sure it is all SoE's fault (aside from a lack of advertising) but rather because of a disease that affects MMO players - race to max level then grind out fabled gear. After you are all fabled out you complain that there is no content for you.
So now I'm thinking about digging my monk out of retirement so I can at least solo more effectively. Looking back, I should have bought a one month subscription before I bought TSO. I would have realized how dead the game was and saved 40 bucks.
