Awesome, thank you Blizzard for single handedly dumbing down the MMO market. It will never be the same. Guess I could reinstate my account and start an alt and be max level by the end of the weekend.

I hope readers of this understand that Blizzard has about 1.5 - 2 million US subscribers. The vast majority of the rest are Asian. Asian MMO markets are very different in that they don't have subscriptions, they sell game time cards in retail stores and online. What's important about this is that Blizzard considers a game time card purchased is considered a unique "player". So Blizzard super inflates their "paid player" numbers using this to their advantage. So WoW probably has about 3-4 million actual players. Which is no small number and props to them for having such a high number, but it's also not 11 million.

I seriously considered getting into WoW with the lich king till I read on the box that you had to have both the original game and the last expansion. $40 and a sub yeah, I'll do that to try out a new MMO. $80 to get all the base game, expansion and new release plus a sub, sorry not doing that.

I'm enjoying Warhammer just fine for now.
