Man these guys look like they are really really hurting, but some interesting news from their new 10-Q statement.

Link here: http://biz.yahoo.com/e/081119/iply.ob10-q.html

But specificallly:

Quote:
While we are working to secure funding for the development of a MMOG based on the popular "Fallout" franchise, we are at the same time exploring ways to leverage our portfolio of gaming properties through sequels and various development and publishing arrangements. We are planning, to develop sequels to some of the most successful games, including Earthworm Jim, Dark Alliance, Descent and MDK. We have reinitiated our in-house game development studio, and have hired game developers. Initial funding for these steps will mainly derive from license arrangements or other financing that we may enter into.

Bad news is they are broke and needing at least $30 million to fund....

They entered into some type of Agreement with Interactive Game Group (I2G) Now sure who they are...

Interactive Game Group (I2G) is a company producing and acquiring video
games and other interactive entertainment properties, whether packaged
media, online or wireless. Created by Frederic Chesnais, former Chief
Executive Officer of Atari Interactive, Inc. with a decade-long experience
in acquiring, financing and licensing intellectual property rights in the
video game industry, I2G is developing and financing a portfolio of video
game properties, joining forces with the best studios, publishers and
distributors for each project on a worldwide scale.

Yeah. I don't think they are going anywhere in this climate for awhile.

The funny thing is that after playing FO3 I think an MMO might be a little harder than I first imagined. You have to make people few and far between for the world. So I am guessing the land mass of an mmo like this would have to be huge. I wonder if they should just concentrate on allowing bethesda to start to incrementally increase the "online-ness" of Fall Out 3.

Anyone else playing Fallout 3?

I wonder if it could be accomplished in Guild Wars style with instances.
