We haven't really discussed if we want to start back up the BT187 guild (the site guild) or go with another guild (for those of us playing WAR). What does everyone think? AGN has a guild taking applications called Casualties of War: Casualties of WAR: Free-for-All Ends Soon Sounds like a good group of people. What does everyone think? Should we try to join up with those guys?

I did as well. The guild will have an order and destruction presence and allow for alts on either side. They will of course be on different servers.

I think the guild is set on playing on a "Core" server for release. I think that means you have to flag yourself to participate in pvp in the open world. Is that's true, is everyone interested in playing on that seemingly more tame server than the raw "Open" server type? I think this Core server type also 0has bolstering while Open does not. Many of the PVP types from eq2-daily seem to like PVP everywhere not just when you want to flag for it. What are your thoughts? It seems like playing WOW on PVE vs. PVP server basically. What am I missing? Does the server type have any impact on your release server / guild selection? I guess I'm game either way since I'm having fun playing with the guild but wanted to put this out there for your thoughts.

Well, the game is so intertwined with the RvR war at large that it really isn't comparable to WoW battlegrounds. In addition every map prominently displays the RvR "lake" and it becomes larger as you progress in tier. Beyond this many, many quests gained in PvE areas are completed in RvR areas - again, something not seen in WoW. In War - PvP is not an addendum to the greater PVE game at large. For these reasons I don't really see a great difference in server type excepting that the RvR flag region will be bigger. All dungeons are instanced and therefore not RvR. Cities I believe are completely protected as well barring one faction gaining enough zone control that the city becomes open.
