What aspect of EQ1 did you enjoy that didn't (or hasn't yet) make it to EQ2?

a.) I really enjoyed having to travel all over to get your spells every level.
b.) A Death penalty
c.) LDON
d.) In a sadistic way I really liked the bazaar. (sadistic because of the lag fest that it was)

Yours?

1) LDoN
2) death penalties
3) corpse runs (yes, really)
4) dots which actually lasted more than 30 seconds
5) meaningful travel times (somewhat ruined by PoP books) which meant the world actually felt (a) connected and (b) huge
6) proper snares. Perhaps I just haven't played the right EQ2 class yet, but back in EQ1 you could properly snare / dot because snares did a decent job and lasted a decent time. Why can't I quad-kite in EQ2?!
7) zone-wide quest events, like the Ring War in Velious. Again, maybe they're in there and I just missed them.
8) Multi-classing tradeskills - possibly my biggest want. I don't care if they make it horribly expensive - charge me 50aa to add a second tradeskill to my toon, but at least allow me to do it.

Well those are the ones that spring to mind :)

Agree with many here. Wierdly I find myself wishing for more timesink type things in games. You used to spend so much time running from one place to the other in EQ1. It annoyed me sometimes but since there was no other option I got used to it. Then they put in the book ports and I missed seeing a lot of the world from then on.

I feel like as gamers we complain about some things and then when they fix them it turns out we were wrong to complain n the first place. I used to complain a lot about lack of solo content in EQ2 then when they made an expansion that was almost exclusively solo content I got bored with the game because I was alone so much, everyone was just pretty much doing their own thing. I feel like so much of an MMO's fun factor are just the people that you play with.

Totally agree, and I am sure it makes devs soooo mad. We really as a collective don't know what we want right now in an MMO. I know I don't. Sometimes I have a massive amount of fun in PvP, other times I hate it. Really jsut depends on my mood. The games that rock and the ones that provide both.

and that takes time and money :(
