Those following this game have probably heard by now but Warhammer had a big announcement this week. Among the highlights: 1.) First MMO to ship with "punkbuster" 2.) Reduction in capital cities from 6 to 2 3.) Removal of classes from the game: Choppa (Greenskin) Hammerer (Dwarf) Blackguard (Dark Elf) Knight of the Blazing Sun (Empire) This means the removal of two tanks and two melee DPS classes. Thoughts? Punkbuster is a system suck. It never fails with BF2142 that even when I am not playing PNKBUstA.exe and PNKBustB.exe are eating away my memory. Thats a disappointment they went with that. As for the cities down from 6 to 2, thats a hell of a lot of content to swipe? How did it get this far before they realized they needed to shave that much off?
I guess in the long run it is good they are coming out and telling everyone, but with that much content not going to be live, they really planned too much.
(and it making me question my preorder.)

I didn't preorder, bouncing all over the place these days. (HELL I'M EVEN PLAYING EQ1)
Seems like you really can't trust anything that people say or do anymore. I mean this is a kick in the nuts isn't it? So many letdowns it seems over the last few years from multiple distributing companies. It's like kick me in the junk, kick me in the junk again.

Thats pretty shady. I am thinking about canceling mine and just looking for a beta invite to see how it goes and making the decision at launch time.

I don't know why we don't get more mad/vocal/vote negatively with our wallets than we do. Maybe I will from now on ;)

After reading this: Quote: EQ2 was originally supposed to launch with a newbie island-type experience for each race - as well as a full blown city for each race, instead of one newbie experience split good and evil, and 2 main cities.
The remainder were cut within the last year of development for the obvious reason of there not being any chance in hell of getting them developed, much less having them be fun. (Early EQ2 beta people would likely remember that the zone filename for the tutorial_island was originally newbie_human - the current isle was the Human starting area.) Far too ambitious for reality.
over at Hartsman's blog (see his comments in this post), it makes me think my initial reaction to the original post might be overcooked.
