I am loving AoC so far. There are quests galore which is good and bad. This reminds me of WoW and RoK where quest xp levels you terribly fast. That in time becomes mundane. RoK questing alone completely burned me out on EQ2 for 3 months - the longest I went without playing in over three years.
I honestly am not certain how good group dungeon xp is compared to questing but I don't think it would be off the mark to say it has to be slower. It almost seems that leveling in AoC is the fastest I have ever seen in an MMO? In addition, I believe I read where a dev said there isn't a diminishing pace until level 60!
Additionally, quest grinding sucks to do within groups as inevitably no one is at the same place within a quest chain. I saw this in RoK - people didn't even want to help they were so burnt out on the quests and in need of something different.
So, if WoW has done one thing that has become the MMO standard which IMO flat out sucks - that is make solo questing the fastest way to level. It seems wierd how there is a pendulum away from grouping toward soloing in MMO's - a genre whose popularity is completly due to it being "massive multiplayer". Thoughts?

So I have been thinking about this all day, honestly I am not sure about if I like/dislike it. Personally I like the fact I can log in for 30 mins and certainly get something accomplished. But I do also see your point about how it is going to get old quick. For me personally, with Kunark, I think that my attitude towards the expansion was not to see new content nut to hurry up and grind to 80 and not be left behind. I don't feel that way with Conan, so I am wondering if although it may be similar it may be viewed through a different lens.

If you get bored questing, you can always smash faces in a pvp game or ganking.

I'm 27 now and I haven't seen a group at all except for an occasional invite for a NPC kill. I'm kinda in agreement with everyone. I'm pretty confused if I like this or not. TONS and TONS of quests. All over the place, I can't keep my journal from being full. I guess it's okay. And it's awesome to log on for a hour or two, take sporadic afks, and not have to sit at the computer for long stretches. That's been nice actually. I've been getting some good sleep the last couple of weeks. But something about it... I just can't tell if I like it or not. Just feels weird. I have found myself devoting each night to AoC now instead of time between EQ2 and AoC. And I hate to let everything go over there, but I think that I might cancel my EQ2 account all together and go full swing AOC, at least untill I get to a point where I am bored in it. But so far.... I guess I am enjoying the hell out of it. I know my wife is enjoying the time management of it.

Well I agree, I love being able to log in for only 30 min and get alot accomplished. My only complaint is the seeming discrepency between quest xp and combat xp.
Its not that I mind solo questing being a very viable way to level - my complaint is that AoC like RoK has made group questing a poor alternative - it just isnt worth grinding a dungeon with friends to most people and you see far less of it. You may can get better loot from them, but hey, when you level this fast what is loot worth anyway?
I mean, leveling fast is fine, they want this to be a grand end game experience for the masses - that is cool. But there should be at least a bit better incentive for grouping along the way to max level - that takes nothing away from solo questing. At this time I feel that balance is missing.

Theo Sanctum is definitely great xp. My group of 6 each pulled in about 25,000+ xp in about one hour.

The emphasis on solo quest play is pretty disappointing. I'm playing with a ready made guild and so far there isnt any incentive to group even with peeps I know really well.
This tales away the surprises of groups, and it does feel very RoK, although so far there isn't the variety of zones that RoK had.
