Aye interesting article as well. You were totally wrong about them not releasing games on the PS3 :)

Do you think they are working on EQ3? Also, do you think Blizzard's next MMO will be Diablo Online? I'm hearing rumors of both projects in the works. I bet AOC takes a decent size bite out of both competitors subscriptions. I'd love to be a fly on the wall and hear what they are planning to combat AOC and Warhammer. For AOC, I think EQ2 folks are more likely to jump ship while Warhammer will get the masses of Warcraft kids to migrate over. Should be an interesting year.

AOC will succeed I think for the PvPers, although warhammer has the same focus, I think you are going to be right about the people who will migrate to each one. (I plan on trying both :)

After playing Tabula Rasa, I just don't like the auto attack MMOs as much. My task is done/My song has ceased/My theme has died into an echo/It is fit.

Disagree on the Warhammer getting the kids - from my involvement with the community is is without a doubt the oldest core base I have observed surrounding an MMO. This I guess comes from almost 30 years of tabletop and PnP gaming as well as fans of the Warhammer fiction. As for this year - WoW expansion, AoC, and Warhammer will leave three hugely successful titles simultaneously - don't know where that leaves SOE - you know they are nervous. Despite what was in my opinion the best MMO of the last generation in EQ2- even if you are more for WoW style it remains minimally a near 2nd - it still is way back in population numbers and remains close to EQ1. That shows what a bad rep will do.

AoC has nailed its combat system - kudos to them.
