Keep an eye on this website, something's happening over there. NBC REALLY hates ITunes right? Probably Google and Youtube too. Nonetheless, NBC and FOX are getting together and offering their videos on this website. http://www.hulu.com/I have applied for BETA but have not yet been accepted. But it looks like it's going to be a sweet ass website once it's up and going. I've had such a hard time with these network sites trying to watch their streams from their websites. TONS of lag and TONS of issues. I'm hoping that this approach will fix it....at least for NBC and FOX shows I like to watch...........FAMILY GUY FTW!!!

Slashdot has a story about this on their main page right now. I didn't read the article, but the blurb mentions some of the issues with Apple/iTunes.

The Buzz Out Loud Podcast has been covering the HULU thing pretty regularly and they seem to think that it really isn't going to do too well.
Tom Merritt said that he was constantly getting jumpy playback. Of course, it's all in BETA right now, but unless they let the video preload ala YouTube It's gonna be horrible for anyone I think.
Personally...even if they want HULU.com....it seems stupid to not sell the stuff on itunes as well... but that's my opinion.
Another question, is that if you can't take the video with you....how useful is it really?

You said it man, However, there's a growing number of households who do not own a boobtube and is jumping on this bandwagon of laptop TV watching. According to an MSN article I just read the other day (found in the TECH section) http://tech.msn.com/news/articlecnet.aspx?cp-documentid=5630846Quote:A whole 2 percent of U.S. households are TV-less, according to Nielsen. (OK, so I'm almost alone.) And nearly 16 percent of American households with Internet access watch television broadcasts online, a report released this week by The Conference Board and TNS Media Intelligence found. I don't know why these guys aren't getting the concept down. Youtube is successful I think (amoung a TON of other reasons) because they use this "Video Preload" technology. I think that's a HUGE plus. And I don't know why the Networks have not grasped this concept yet. ABC's built in media player is a POS and I won't watch anything from them because of it. The others are just as bad....though of all, I really enjoy the CBS one the best even though it's still not a "Video Preload". Could be a growing % of the population.
