So whats everyone up too?

I will admit I haven't logged into Norrath in about 2 or 3 weeks to play.

What have I been playing?

Lost Odyssey (360 RPG) - I don't know if it is necessarily the one of the best RPGs I have ever played, but 2 things make it pretty worth picking it up.

#1) The art is supurb. They really did a good job not only on the cut scenes but the "Saving Private Ryanish/Gladiatorish" shakey camera battle scenes are pretty good. It isn't as shakey as COD4, but it still gives somewhat of a realistic feeling to it.

#2) It is the first RPG I have played in awhile that really reminds me of FF7's world. It is that hybrid tech/magic fantasy settings where you really don't know if stuff is more magical or tech (based on magic energy).

Over all (I am only on disk 2) I would say I would probably rate it a 7.5 our of 10.

Ikariam
Second Game I that I am diggin is Ikariam. I gotta thank Ogre for this one, I saw it on a blog post of his and started my little island city about a week ago. The game isn't one you can really just sit down and play, it takes small 2-3min sections of your time maybe once or twice a day while you build your empire. It is very similar imho to Civ 4, but just much simpler and as a programmer I gotta say that the game's graphics are pretty impressive for a web based game. The character art for the game is wonderful.

WOW
Last I have gotten my Priest up in Wow to around 26 and still working on him slowly. I will say that so far when WoW has started to get grindy there is always another place to go hunt and mess around in which is pretty nice. I am keeping my Skinning and Jewlerycraft up at around the same level my character is currently and really just trying to enjoy the game and not rush it.

(Disclaimer, Not my char, just what I want it to be maybe with a hint more Draenei)

So what is everyone else playing?

I haven't logged in over a month and finally decided to cancel my account. I just wasn't into the quest grind and after I got significantly behind the rest of my guild it wasn't fun just playing with pick up groups.

Maybe I'll start back later. I did the same thing with EQ1 and started back.

As for what I'm playing, not much. I don't get a lot of time but when I do it's COD4, love the new maps. I am still working on Mass Effect and want to finish it up.

I'm not really playing anything on PC although I might give IKARIUM a shot but right now it doesn't want to let me log in.

I was playing WoW, but got burnt out playing BGs for too long. I know I'll go back eventually... but in the meantime, I started playing EQ2 again... then dropped it again. Now I'm playing Vanguard and Tabula Rasa trying to decide which one I'll actually keep playing.

On the non-MMO front, I've started Freelancer again, and am playing COD4, Frontlines, BF2142, and ETQW. Console-wise I'm playing Rock Band a lot, and not much else.

My task is done/My song has ceased/My theme has died into an echo/It is fit.

Having a lot of fun playing GW Prophecies. The quests seem more meaningful. I like the mission system. It seems more friendly towards those that have an hour or less to play.

Well I had been busy grinding through the 70s in game, but now I seem to be wasting my time playing Ikariam!

I'm still grinding away at those quests: 2,332 atm and approaching the worldwide top 500, and levelling my 2 boxed toons.

I've flirted with LotRO a little, but the combat didn't feel quite right somehow. also been playing Warhammer 40K: Squad Commander on the DS. Its a turn based squad strategy game has a nice difficulty curve.

Really, really can't wait for AoC ...

I am grinding away at PvP writs and my epic quest line. After getting burnt out on the 70's level grind and endless questing I tried WoW again and numerous console games. WoW just could not hold me at all, I am the rare person that just can't find it engaging or a world that I want to see more of which is usually a big draw for me in MMO's. This is my second run at WoW and I have yet to make it past the 20's.

EQ2 changed dramatically at lvl 80 and the game is fun again. I have raided some, been in x8 v x8 pvp raid fests where you get tokens every 10 min, and have an epic to attain. I have a better understanding of the faction system in Kunark and the rewards they provide. The instances drop good loot. And did I say pvp. There is as much pvp action at lvl 80 in Kunark as there has been at any time in game ever.

Having a good time right now but like spyte I really can't wait for the next thing either, unlike Spyte I am more anxious for Warhammer than AoC.

Me? I switch between EverQuest 2, Vanguard and Lord of the Rings online on the MMO fronts. On the non-MMO front I've played some Fate Stay/Night, Neverwinter Nights 2, Unreal Tournament 3 and some Team Fortress 2 at work. Oh, and once in a while I'll load up Bootfighter Windom XP sp-2.NET.

Technically I also play (read: test) the game I work on, but I can't tell you too much about that, or I'd have to kill ya ;)

I am busy packing and getting ready to move. We have to be out by April 28th. I haven't played a game in awhile. I logged into EQ a couple nights ago but now I am guildless and really dont have much to do. I have been wanting to try a new game lately. Maybe after the move I can pick something up.

I haven't been playing much of anything in the last few weeks. I made a post in my guild forums that I was going to have reduced playtimes due to wanting to focus more on RL and so when I logged back in I had gotten the boot for inactivity. Good thing though because they are now selling mythicals to city people and I would have quit anyway because that just cheapens the work of everyone who put in countless hours to learn encounters and clear VP.

I have a few buddies form work that are just discovering the game and they are playing on Freeport so I made a newbie SK named Ossabaw on Nagafen to play with them some. It's hard to get motivated to do it though, to be honest. I got up to 11 in Vanguard on the PVP server before I came to the realization that Vanguard PVP is dead and an MMO without players isn't much fun. The PVE servers are doing ok population wise but I personally miss PVP.

For me, I need something new and I'm hoping Conan will get the job done. Whatever happens, I don't see myself raiding six nights a week anymore because that's just not something that makes much sense. I do hope most of us can come together in the next great thing and have some fun again.

Thats fucking lame.

I honestly haven't played on Nagafen in a few weeks, but I wouldn't be surprised if 6 months from now it is almost totally exile. I am sure a lot of the Exile guilds "guard" a lot of the Mythical mobs, and allowing payment (I assume via in game plat, even lamer if it is RM) and then "charge" for access really might pretty much be the nail in the coffin for pvp for me.

/ WTB PvP to PvE transfer (unless Exile is done away with). SOE sat on their ass to long with PvP in my opinion. It started out fairly well, just the systems haven't worked out in the long run and they are too scared to change it at this point and further upsettings the playerbase still playing.

Very pitiful.

The way it works is every class has one or more bosses in Veeshan's Peak that have to die for the player to get their mythical complete. Here is the link to the post about selling mythical weapons. They are selling flagging and boss kills for in game plat. It's strange - there are a lot of great players in Kraken and Davram's a pretty solid leader but you have to wonder what's the deal with this activity. Looks like I bailed at a good time.

I suppose I need to chime in here. I've been playing a lot of COD4, but I've also gotten sucked into EVE online lately. They had a 21 day trial through Steam and I decided I would check it out. It's a weird thing - it's not that awesome of a game but yet I find myself logging in every night. It can be boring, lonely, annoyingly complicated, it's super open-ended (i.e. no set progression or leveling - do whatever the hell you want), and you can be killed pvp anywhere in the game with horribly harsh death penalties, and yet after all that I'm weirdly drawn to it...

Looking forward to Conan and a more normal MMO...if I can tear myself away :)

I've been sick so I've been off eq2 and in bed playing PSP.

Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core is a good game if you enjoyed FFVII's story.
